Enhanced Safety Measures at South Paulding High School and Winn Rd

The Issue

Hello my name is Justin Rowe, I’m a Paulding county Native as are my children one of which attends South Paulding high school. The purpose of this is for a call to action by the state/county/city governments to enhance the safety measures for our parents, students, new student drivers, staff, and bus drivers at the intersection in front SPHS (South Paulding High School).
The current situation at the school is that you have over a hundred new student drivers each year, and since October of 2022 there have been 42 crashes reported on Winn Rd. 36 being directly in front of the school, not including the incident that just happened on Wednesday August 27th 2025 where a child was struck by car while walking to school, and is in critical condition. This situation was completely avoidable; had there been more safety measures for the intersection at SPHS and Winn Rd. Remember this school opened in the fall of 2006 I’m sure that number is far beyond just the past 2 years and 11 months when your stretching back that far. As a father of an almost new driver, and as a father in general there needs to be better safety measures in front of the school.
I Justin Rowe on behalf of past, present, and future children/staff attending SPHS,  implore that you come up with a plan for better awareness of children walking from the neighborhood across the street with a crosswalk red light. Install a stop sign or red light with a turning light at the intersection in front of the school, and until a plan is implemented and is completed have a resource officer or certified traffic director directing traffic morning and afternoon to further protect students and staff at SPHS.
Please help me, and every parent and student and staff member of SPHS community by signing this petition for a call to action by the state/counties/cities governments to protect their future and present residents. Thank You.
