Hello, My Name Is Destiny Casillas, from Buffalo NY. A mother of two children who attend Buffalo Public schools. 
As you all know a viral video has surfaced the internet about Buffalo Public schools, exposing them for children almost being taken while in their care with little to no CONCERN, or REPORTING of such a matter! 
Children are missing too much around the world, and sadly, Buffalo has not been spared!!  Every day, parents fear for their children's safety when they send them off to school. The possibility of a child being taken is a nightmare that no family should ever have to go through. We trust our children with the school and staff!!! This is why it is crucial that we enhance security measures in all Buffalo Public Schools!!! 

As advocates and protectors of our children, we owe it to them to provide a safe learning environment. There is more than enough funding and police personnel in our districts around Buffalo to support enhanced security measures. We propose requiring all Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) to have increased security presence, including the installation of more surveillance cameras and the presence of police officers on campuses throughout the day! 

Knowing that there are at least one police car present on each campus during school hours would provide peace of mind to parents and create a secure environment for students and staff alike. Investing in these preventative measures is an investment in the safety and future of our children.

Research indicates that visible security presence can deter potential threats and reassure the community. Additionally, training programs for officers specifically in school environments can further ensure they are equipped to handle any situations that may arise. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, schools with comprehensive security measures report fewer incidents, enhancing the overall educational experience for all.
Most importantly keeping EVERYONE SAFE! 
The community cannot stand idly by any longer. The lives and welfare of our children are at stake. We urge the Buffalo school district and local authorities to prioritize this issue and implement these essential security improvements immediately.
