Enhance Animal Control Facilities and Increase Staff in Georgia

The Issue

Every day, I witness heartbreaking cases of animal abandonment, neglect, and abuse with no help in sight. This is a reality that many Georgians in Wayne County face daily due to the limited capacity of our current Animal Control facility and insufficient staff. Our animals deserve better.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year - a significant number that calls for immediate action. In Georgia alone, thousands of animals are left without proper care or shelter due to lack of resources.

We need urgent expansion of our existing Animal Control facility or the establishment of a new one equipped with adequate resources to cater for these helpless creatures' needs. Additionally, increasing the number of Animal Control officers will not only ensure better care for these animals but also contribute significantly towards reducing cases of animal cruelty within our state.

Let's stand together as Georgians and citizens of Wayne County, who value life in all its forms and advocate for improved conditions for these innocent beings who depend on us entirely. It's time we give them a voice by signing this petition urging local authorities to enhance our current Animal Control facilities and increase staff numbers urgently.
