Dogs - members of peoples families that are loved dearly are being stolen for purposes of selling on or breeding from to be sold for extortionate prices.  These dogs are being ‘mass produced’ in disgusting surroundings - being sold for highly inflated prices and are often sick and die soon after being sold.  People are living heartbroken at the loss of their beloved pets - and many live in fear of simply enjoying the pleasure of taking them for walks. A solution to this needs to be found. I believe that it should become law that dogs or puppies cannot be sold other than by registered breeders or a registered rehoming/rescue centre.  Any puppies resulting from  accidental breeding must be passed to a rehoming centre and a fee charged by them for rehoming the dogs to suitable homes.   Any person  owning a dog must either be registered as a breeder, be a member of a recognised breed club - for purposes of improving the breed/showing or the animal must be neutered for the health and well being of the dog and to prevent accidental breeding.  Any person registering as a breeder must be stringently checked by a recognised body such as RSPCA on a regular basis.  I cannot see any other solution to this current crisis where we all fear for our pets.
