COVID 19 has been a global tragedy. The world is under an economic and political strain like no other time or certainly has been seen in a lifetime. 

Yet the Efl with its incompetence has left businesses and families in limbo by its uncertainty about how and when football will restarted for hundreds of thousands of football fans in England. They are not alone in this however a suggested points per game measure the league wishes to use is an unfair rule change that affects clubs (businesses ) to there detriment in a time when the rest of the world is trying to prevent financial hardship and the viruses financial fall out. Suggested proposal of using a points per game RULE CHANGE offers clubs at the top of a division (by even slightest advantage) in promotion spot a promotion. This is the football equivalent of scoring whilst your opponent is injured.

Teams shy of the Playoffs will not be allowed a chance to play themselves into these positions up to 10 games shy of the official and agreed league end date. Yet teams in a playoff place will get the opportunity to play for promotion. Even if only separated by a point or part of a point with ppg.

Teams in Relegation position even if they have games in hand will not be able to contest their right for survival, despite league seeing it just the teams in division below can contest a place in the above league. 

With the rule change that moves the ‘goalpost’ this petition is to notify the efl just how many people do not agree that this maintains sporting integrity, in fact doing just the opposite. League one as examples last year after 36 games the 4 teams occupying the relegation zone only one went on to be relegated. So I would like an explanation to how this is not using the virus to punish some of its own so called partners in football. 

This Points per Game mechanism is not fit for purpose so please join me in telling the efl how unsportsmanlike thia proposal is. 

And I reserve special appeal to fans of teams that will benefit from this flawed metric and please join in. This could have adversely affected your club. Is this not profiting from premature finishing of a much loved league and as described before almost scoring with a injured opposition. Would you not see a goal back straight from kick off in reverse of this happens in a game. Sportsmanship is required we need further compromise in ppg or let’s play this all out on a field when we are safe from COVID
