The Issue

Since 2016 when Clarion Housing group merged with Affinity Sutton specifically on the City Road Estate social housing residents have been left to rot, with awful disrepair, health and safety and security issues and issues with being re housed.

Due to the bustling night life in the surrounding area it has attracted a high level of anti social behaviour and criminality; drug selling and paraphernalia, litter, damaged property, attempted break ins, fights, robberies and fatal stabbings.

The estate is infested with mice and rats, peoples homes are in a state of disrepair; ceilings caving in, wrong boilers fitted, carbon monoxide and asbestos have also been found in some properties. Unsafe non fire doors.

Clarion housing despite being a social landlord have had no London based properties to offer families in desperate need to move who are living in cramped overcrowded conditions, however it is well known that 2 and 3 bedroom properties that have become available namely on the City Road Estate since the merge with Clarion in 2016 are being privately rented to separate individuals as separate rooms generating double and triple rents.

Clarion Housing are a social housing landlord and part of a charitable foundation but the only ones that appear to be benefiting from anything are Clarion themselves.

Please sign the petition to help ask the government to thoroughly investigate the issues raised and why Clarion are failing to act and carry out their duties as a social housing landlord and whom is actually benefiting from Clarion being a charitable foundation. This may now be the only way residents being left to rot under the CLARION HOUSING  now might have our voices heard!
