WE DEMAND:

We, the security officers of South Africa, Grade A, B, and C, call on PSIRA to do its job and protect us.

Many security companies in South Africa are NOT paying the official PSIRA minimum rates. They pay R2,500 - R5,000 while the PSIRA rate is higher. They have:

1. No payslips

2. No UIF

3. No Provident Fund

4. 27 Days shift without off

OUR 4 DEMANDS TO PSIRA:

1. IMMEDIATE AUDIT: Audit ALL registered security companies in the next 90 days and publish the list of companies NOT complying with PSIRA rates.

2. CANCEL REGISTRATION: Cancel the PSIRA registration of any company found paying below the prescribed minimum wage. No warnings - cancel them.

3. DIRECT PAYMENT PROTECTION: Create a toll-free WhatsApp hotline where officers can report underpayment anonymously with proof (payslip/bank statement) without fear of losing their jobs.

4. BACK PAY: Force non-compliant companies to pay back pay to all affected officers from day one of employment.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

We risk our lives every night for this country. We guard malls, hospitals, and homes. But we cannot feed our own families. A security officer with a valid Grade C PSIRA certificate should not earn less than a domestic worker.

PSIRA, you set the rates, but you don't enforce them. If you don't enforce them, what is your purpose?
