We wanted to provide a critical update to everyone supporting this petition: our city is now down to just one animal control officer. This drastic reduction in staffing directly impacts the safety of our neighborhoods and the well-being of both pets and residents.
Despite repeated outreach and formal inquiries, the city has continued to ignore our requests for enforcement of leash laws. Off-leash animals pose serious risks—from aggressive encounters to public health concerns—and without proper enforcement, the issue is only getting worse.
The community has made it clear: we want safer streets, responsible pet ownership, and a fully staffed animal control department that can respond effectively to violations. We’re urging the city to listen to its residents and take immediate action to restore enforcement capacity.
Please continue sharing this petition. Every signature counts in showing that our community demands accountability and change.
