Enforce traffic laws in the Philippines BETTER!
The Issue
Growing up in the vibrant streets of the Philippines, we have witnessed firsthand how traffic chaos poses a constant threat to our safety and well-being.
It's disheartening to see that, despite existing traffic regulations like Republic Act No. 4136, the implementation and strict enforcement of these laws have been lacking. As concerned citizens, we believe it's crucial for the government to properly implement laws that we already have.
The inconsistent adherence to traffic rules has undoubtedly contributed to the distressing number of road
accidents in the country. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported an estimated 4,450 road traffic fatalities over the past decade in the National Capital Region, with an average of 445 deaths per year from 2013 to 2023.
To effect lasting change, we must urge our government to commit to this cause with the seriousn
ess it requires, ensuring safer stre
ets for current and future generations. This initiative is not just about enacting penalties but reshaping the overall mindset towards traffic discipline in our country.
Please stand with us in this call for the Philippine government to uphold and enforce the traffic laws that keep us safe and orderly on the roads. It's time to hold ourselves accountable and demand better from those in power.
