Despite my repeated escalation of such serious quality issues, no action was taken and I was ultimately dismissed. Tire plants have been able to regulate themselves, often opting not to report defects. More than 700 deaths annually in the United States are linked to faulty tires - a grim testament to this industry-wide problem that needs immediate attention (source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). This petition seeks to lobby Congress in the belief that everyone on our roads deserves safer, more thoroughly vetted tires. We demand stricter regulation of the tire industry in the regrettably necessary effort to ensure tires meet high safety standards.
