Enforce residential permit parking in Zone 1826

Enforce residential permit parking in Zone 1826
The Issue
Living in Zone 1826 has become an ongoing struggle for residents who diligently pay for their residential parking permits and yet find themselves battling for parking spaces daily. This is deeply frustrating because despite investing in annual permit stickers, the rightful place to park often gets overrun by unauthorized vehicles, leading to trespassing and double parking issues along 47th Street. Our streets, meant for residents’ use, have become congested and unfairly utilized by those without permits, particularly non-resident condo tenants.
The solution is clear and can be effectively implemented by enhancing the enforcement of residential permit parking regulations around Zone 1826. We respectfully urge the local authorities to increase patrols and issue fines to offenders who park without proper permits. Moreover, it is imperative to restrict the issuance of residential parking permits exclusively to verified residents within the zone. Recently, other neighborhoods have succeeded in implementing similar measures and have reported noticeable improvements in parking availability and compliance.
Strengthening enforcement will encourage compliance and significantly ease the parking difficulties that have plagued us for too long. According to recent studies, areas with strict enforcement notice a marked reduction in parking violations and a 30% improvement in permit holders finding available spots more easily. With adequate action from the city, Zone 1826 can also benefit similarly.
We believe that with the right measures in place, we can reclaim our parking spaces and ensure that they are available for the residents who rightfully pay for them. We need your support to push for these changes. Help us make Zone 1826 a better place to live by signing this petition. Together, we can make a difference.
