Enforce permanent halt to Israels atrocities in Lebanon

Enforce permanent halt to Israels atrocities in Lebanon
The Issue
Growing up as a first-generation Lebanese American, I've always felt a deep connection to my homeland. Today, I write with a heart heavy with grief and frustration. My family (mostly my fathers side), like many others, still resides in Lebanon. Every day, we live in constant fear for their safety due to the continued hostilities and violence perpetrated by Israel in southern Lebanon and Beirut.
Despite US President Donald Trump's assurances to prohibit strikes in Lebanon, historical patterns have shown the wavering stance of the US government due to its alliances. We rely on international commitments to ensure peace, yet time and time again, these promises have been broken, subjecting innocent Lebanese civilians to atrocities that should be unheard of in 2026.
Just recently, the world watched in horror as Israeli soldiers allegedly desecrated a revered religious symbol by striking a Jesus statue in Lebanon, alongside numerous other acts of violence. These actions are a clear violation of human rights and disregard the sanctity of life and religious freedom.
We call upon the United States government to uphold its stance firmly and unambiguously against any form of aggression in Lebanon.
Concrete steps must be taken to ensure a permanent halt to these atrocities. This includes reinforcing diplomatic measures, holding violators accountable under international law, and deploying necessary peacekeeping forces to safeguard vulnerable populations.
The atrocities committed against the people of Lebanon are deplorable and must end. It is not merely a regional issue, but a moral imperative that demands a global response.
Join me in urging our leaders to take definitive action for peace in Lebanon. Our voices united can turn pledges into reality and ensure the safety and dignity of every life in Lebanon.
Please sign this petition to end the violence and pray for peace for those who cannot speak for themselves.
