Aloha Friends and Supporters,

I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who signed the petition, sent a message of encouragement, or simply held this fight in your thoughts. You gave me strength on days when this felt impossible, and I carry that with me into every room I walk into.

Today was Day Two of the hearing before Judge Peter T. Cahill in the Circuit Court of the Second Circuit, State of Hawaii. We are not done until we are done — and as of this morning, we are not done.

Here is where things stand:

The Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss was denied yesterday. The judge found my claims legally valid and the case has moved forward.

Today the Defendants are presenting their witness. I will conduct cross-examination and submit my Closing argument.

Judge Cahill is expected to issue his ruling on my requested relief this afternoon. I have asked the Court for the following:

• My immediate reinstatement as duly elected Maui County Republican Party Chair, with full access to all Party communications and records

• The right for me and all credentialed Maui County delegates to attend and fully participate in the May 16, 2026 HRP State Convention Saturday — with all voting rights intact

• An emergency injunction blocking a proposed bylaw amendment from being voted on at Saturday’s Convention while this case is pending — an amendment that would permanently codify suspension for any member who files a lawsuit against the Party

• A declaration that the disciplinary committee, all its proceedings, the charges, the censure, the suspension, and my Convention exclusion are void and without legal force

• An order striking all records of the suspension and disciplinary actions from Party records, with written notice to all who received the suspension email

• An injunction prohibiting any further retaliation against me for exercising my legal rights

• Reimbursement of my out-of-pocket costs including filing fees, postage, and process servers

• Compensatory and punitive damages to be determined at a full hearing on the merits

This fight has never been just about me. It has been about whether the rules mean anything — whether an elected officer can be removed through a void proceeding, retaliated against for going to court, and silenced at the very Convention she was elected to attend. I believe the answer to all of those questions is no.

I will update you as soon as I have news from the Court.

It is not done until it is done. And we are not done.

Please pray for justice!

With deep gratitude and aloha,

Tammy Ash Perkins
Maui County Republican Party Chair
