Enforce Animal Control Laws in Ashland, KY to Protect Pets and Reduce Stray Populations
The Issue
I have lived in Ashland for about 20 years or longer and I have noticed the animal population triple in the last five to seven years it's a really sad thing I have neighbors that have multiple female dogs that keep getting pregnant and they just let their dogs run the streets there's so many of them it's insane if you call the police they can't do nothing about it not only are they multiplying but a lot of their animals are aggressive and killing other people's animals if you call the dog pound they can't do nothing about it because they are overpopulated with animals I want to make a difference maybe a law coming to affect that if you have an animal if that animal is on your property or goes to your property that's considered your animal and you are responsible for taking care of it your animals must be fixed and they have to be on a leash if they're outside and if they're not you get fined I feel like it would stop a lot of the animal cruelty and population. Some of my neighbors mate their dogs and try to sell them and they are considered legitimately mutts just so they can put a dollar in their pocket. I know there is more people out there that feel the same way I do it's really a sad thing we do our best to feed all the animals around here all the stray cats but it's like there's more people that don't care than there is that cares.
