Dear Supporters, Thank you for your overwhelming support towards this campaign. Signing this petition has demonstrated the power of the people in raising our concerns about building on Green Belt land. Your many signatures has allowed us to present our concerns directly to Enfield’s Full Council meeting which was attended by the Mayor, Chief Executive, Senior Directors and around 60 elected Councillors. Just under 200 residents also attended to support. We delivered a powerful message in that the Green Belt and its environmental benefits serves a purpose and the Council must not bow down to the pressures of developers to vandalise this. The developer Fairview Homes is a profit making business, so we are anticipating a planning application being submitted fairly soon. We must all be ready to write in and object. We will write out to you again when this happens. We still require more signatures. There is no age restriction, so young people can sign too as ultimately the loss of Green Belt and change to the landscape will affect them most!
