I am not completely pro or anti LTN....I am petitioning for consultation with all of the community, to ask the council to work with all residents, and not inflict undemocratic, unworkable changes with only very limited consultation with largely pro LTN residents.

LTNs have been implemented under emergency legislation. Because they were introduced without full consultation, they do not have proven support from the communities affected.  A number of concerns have been raised with regard to safety, equality legislation, displaced traffic onto roads that don’t have the capacity and the increased pollution on these roads.

There is also affect of increased journey times for residents and local tradespeople and the related pollution, the fact that once Brownlow Road gate is implemented it will slice the community in half, some having journey times more than tripled to access our nearest high street, park and hospital

Finally a large number of residents will have only one way of accessing their homes and if there are any blockages to any of these roads the fact that both they nor emergency services will be able to access their own homes

By working together we can aim to amend the current plan, if we can’t agree it  could mean that changes to the existing plan aren’t implemented and the current restrictions will stay as are (which is having a significant impact on residents ) or that the LTN will be removed completely (which will mean that the problems of rat runners and speeding will not be addressed)
