An update from Linda, Anthony's mother.

I visited Anthony yesterday along with my husband and 17 year old daughter, Anthony's youngest sibling. Anthony appeared to be very hungry, we took him to a restaurant for a meal and noticed that his hands were shaking. My husband always brings a nail clipper as Nua never cut his nails so my husband cut his blackened nails which are probably due to the Nua farm labour abuse.
Anthonys younger sister who is at school so has not seen him for months as the HSE have placed Anthony in a "unit" so far away from the family was shocked at Anthony's weight loss since the last time she saw him and the fact that he appeared "to be out of it on drugs."
We too are extremely worried about Anthony who told us that he does not get enough food in Nua and was starving. He told us that he does not like the doctor who prescribes his medication as he does not want to take medication. He again appealed to us to get him out of Nua and back to Independent Living in a house near us his family.
We updated Anthony on the appeal to Enda Kenny and HSE/Nua and he once again thanked his supporters telling us that he appreciated all support. We remain deeply concerned about Anthony's Health and Safety and are so disappointed with the lack of support and indifference from NAS. Just because we do not live in UK is no excuse for their lack of empathy for Anthony why does NAS continue to support Nua whilst giving Anthony and his family no support whatsoever.
Please urge others to support Anthony's campaign and sign the petition.
Linda
