End Unfair Residential Parking Citations in Cudahy, WI, USA

The Issue

As a long-term resident of Cudahy, WI, USA, I grew up in Cudahy and throughout the years Moved to Several Surrounding Cities Like Oak Creek St. Francis and South Milwaukee. (Which all Surrounding Cities only Enforce parking during the Winter) which is Completely understandable. I plow Snow so I understand the importance of Parking Regulations in the Winter Months. I had Kids and bought a house where I’ve lived at for three years now without ever receiving a parking ticket. However, circumstances have suddenly changed and I’ve gotten three in the past two weeks. It's an alarming trend that appears to target regular residents rather than supporting public order. It's not just inconvenient, it's unjustly exploitative. These parking tickets are issued for a 3-hour span in the heart of the night, raking in income seemingly at the expense of residents' well-being rather than for any discernible public benefit. The policy seems to be flat out theft packaged as legal enforcement.

On top of these citations, the city is also selling parking permits, which is another additional financial burden on residents. It's clear that these practices are more revenue-driven than tied to real necessities of traffic regulation or resident safety. What's more, these practices are mostly enforced outside business districts, where people call their homes. It is alarming that residents are slapped with fines for simply parking their vehicle on their own street while they sleep.

The situation warrants immediate review and change. It is our collective right as residents of Cudahy to demand a fair parking management system that works for the benefit of all citizens, not just benefiting the city coffers. We have the right to enjoy our homes and our city without the looming threat of unjustified fines and penalties. We, therefore, implore the city officials of Cudahy to put an end to unfair residential parking citations, review the parking policies, and establish alternatives that balance the needs of residents and the city's revenue considerations. Stand against this evident injustice. Sign this petition!
