END Unconstitutional ICE Overreach Or END ICE contracts citywide
The Issue
We, the people, present several motions to limit the constitutionally unlawful actions of the federal agency, ICE, without warrant, outside of their jurisdiction against both documented American citizens, veterans, and undocumented migrants seeking citizenship.
We, the people, perceive these actions, not only as a threat to our local community dynamics, workforce, education system, and broader economics; we see these actions as a threat to national security.
ICE is not only breaking state and federal laws regarding their jurisdiction WITHOUT a warrant, but has frequently been seen breaking CONSTITUTIONAL LAW against the will and rights of US citizens and immigrants alike with NO jurisprudence. As it stands, they are seemingly acting as a private militia for the President of the United States in a GROSS overreach of his and their powers under US law and the US constitution.
Lawsuits and oversight are only impactful if abided and/or enforced. As it stands, national oversight has been attacked, ignored, and assaulted on several occasions (most Notably, being Senator Padilla while face to face with Kristi Noem, as well as Senators visiting the Newark ICE detention center). And, to add insult to injury, these regulatory agents of the American people are then arrested and put on trial for doing their constitutionally ordained duties. These are dystopian things to witness. These are not the makings of the democratic system we have established for over a century now; flawed as it is.
We have seen in several video and audio recorded instances that, knowingly or unknowingly they have put presidential executive orders over the proper chain of legislative order. (There will be a live growing list of such events at the bottom of this petition)
We, the people, don't believe that we simply need to lean on humanistic platitudes of civil liberties to understand the danger that this poses to YOU, politicians and elected representativs, and our society at large. In layman's terms, whether or not you, politicians and elected representatives, ACTUALLY act in a manner befitting a "civil servant" per your job description, you should care about this malfeasance for your own financial wellbeing and safety.
Instances of ICE malfeasance has become so common within only the span of [insert time period here] that one could, at this point, create a template to say "[insert essential business here] is no longer functional after an ICE raid in [insert city here]". As such, our stock market is PLUMMETING as our local markets feel similar and often worse negativd impacts. All the while, in separate but economically concerning instances, Donald Trump has also attempted, and, in short term, succeeded in, disabling services that give our working class chances of survival much less buying power. These actions both disable the working class and thru deportation, REMOVE a significant portion of all levels of the working class INCLUDING CIVILLIANS. This remains the reality of our situation unless discussing "legalized" slave labor thru private prisons with their detainees who have not stood trial, which we, the people, would argue is ALSO unconstitutional. Regardless of whether our constitution permits slave labor thru prisons, the fact remains that these detainees, whether in part or in large, have NOT stood trial, removing their rights as "innocent until proven guilty".
ONE of these actions would cause severe negative economic impact to our local and federal economies as a whole, but collectively, they serve to cripple our economic infrastructure. If that was not clear to any politicians who are or may, in the future read this, YOUR FINANCES ARE SEVERELY IMPACTED. If the flow of economics and present danger herein is not evident, I'd suggest you take this petition, further analyze the actions taken by the federal government that impact our communities, and consult at least one economist of develop a commitee of economist to review these matters. (There will be some published economic analysis linked below)
Further, we, the people, are very surprised that your PRIDE is not impacted when, WITHOUT YOUR SAY SO, federal militants FOREIGN to your city are unlawfully raiding not only businesses, not only HOMES, but both Private and Public places of work & education at ALL levels. This notably happening in "university city" in Philadelphia and immigration COURTS for that matter. It appears no place is is off limits. Well, this petition serves to change that PERMANENTLY. This trauma will remain a stain on American history for years to come and we need to halt its progression IMMEDIATELY!
As much as our police force requires adjustments, I'm VERY surprised that local law enforcement are not offended by the Federal Government, thru their agency of ICE, UNLAWFULLY intruding into their jurisdiction in this moment. Aka "walking on their turf". Much less, then working alongside them at times. It’s unclear if our state’s and city civil servants remember who they have an oaths to. Much less the military. We seek to make this SIGNIFICANTLY less ambiguous. And, should the police knowingly cooperate with invaders in a treasonous nature towards our city and state residents, we move to maintain REAL, TANGIBLE & PERMANENT methods of accountability. Although, we understand that may be a reach at this time.
All of these unlawful actions for the sake of DETAINING, without the known capability to DEPORT, individuals who often have NO criminal record and have often only been accused of petty crime, at best. At one time, the WORST case I had to mention was DOCUMENTED VETERAN CIVILLIANS being detained WITHOUT WARRANT. Yet, now, we are seeing CHILDREN detained and separated from their families with the as Kristi Noem and Todd Lyons celebrate this as a win. This is NO exaggeration. They have VERY public GOVERNMENT SANCTIONED accounts now to push this propaganda. If such matters have not occurred in your jurisdiction, it's only a matter of time.
We, the people, MUST reiterate; FEDERAL MILITANTS are INVADING YOUR CITY to DETAIN YOUR CITIZENS who PAY TAXES. We can consider the recent military moves weaponizing both 700 of the Marines and 2000 of the National Guard in FURTHER unconstitutional actions in California where we already have video and testimony in the teens of individuals assaulted with weapons by militants and law enforcement. CIVILLIANS who are often NOT protesting, nor are undocumented, needing to seek citizenship. What’s most concerning is their willing deployment did not follow proper chain of command. They should not have been sent and there should be an investigation.
Currently, we ALREADY KNOW that Philadelphia is one of many cities the Trump administration has set their eyes on to replicate this or potentially something worse. The other reality is that legislation is on the Federal Senate floor as we speak to allow for the Fed to deport American citizens.
This, again, impacts the "trickle up" economics fraudulently titled "trickle down" economics developed by Milton Friedman, which most modern Republicans ascribe themselves to. "Trickle down" economic theory which is not accepted as viable or logical by the broader economic scholastic community. We reiterate. "This impacts YOUR finances". You GET nothing if the market can AFFORD nothing. The economy DIES.
I understand the response to this lies in the belief that previous efforts to remove particularly obstructive immigrants, illegal or otherwise, was not sufficient. I understand many are considering various legislative fixes and amendments to this, but everything I have seen as of yet, has been, candidly, soft. Our constitution has been broken on several instances. The federal body is to serve as a means of uniting the states. The name sake of the country. When it has gone against this call so fervently and so frequently even into its own 3 branches, we need to arm ourselves for the worst, in every capacity.
The 2nd amendment starts with STATE intervention, all the way down to the civillians. It’s there for a reason. This administration DID superficially campaign on the ideals of state’s rights. It may be proper to abide that.
This preamble was a long and emotive letter to summarize the spirit of these proposals below and so we ALL understand at least the smallest breadth of how truly grave this situation is and can become. I will let you use your imagination for what comes next if we lean only on what we have done so far.
Moreso, we have legislative proposals to stop, if not slow this cascade assault on current and aspiring American citizens for simply pursuing what is suggested in the US constitution (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness).
We believe these proposals should make it extremely difficult for DHS, ICE, or any Federal Agency to harm civillians as this administration has managed to do in a matter of months. And, should they not comply, like other American cities, we should reasonably be prepared to cut ties with either or both infantile organizations birthed from the Bush era.
