The Issue

Twice every year, Americans are forced to change their clocks, disrupting sleep, families, schools, businesses, and daily routines. Most people agree it's time to end this outdated practice.

The U.S. House of Representatives has already acted, passing legislation to make daylight saving time permanent. Now the United States Senate has the opportunity to finish the job.

Making daylight saving time permanent would:

• End the inconvenience of changing clocks twice each year.

• Provide more usable daylight during the evening, when most Americans are awake and active.

• Benefit families, local businesses, tourism, recreation, restaurants, and outdoor activities.

• Give Americans one consistent time year-round without the disruption of biannual clock changes.

The House has spoken. Now we urge the United States Senate to pass the Sunshine Protection Act and send it to the President for signature.

If you're tired of changing your clocks every spring and fall, please sign this petition and share it with others. Together, we can finally lock the clock.
