As a family who has rescued dogs all our lives, we deeply resonate with the struggle of our four-legged friends who end up in kill shelters. Kill shelters around the U.S euthanize 1.5 million shelter animals each year, according to a report from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(ASPCA). Many of these are healthy and adoptable pets whose only crime was to be born into a world where too few people care to adopt.

We are hereby petitioning for a cease to the euthanizing of dogs in kill shelters. Our societies must strive to become No Kill societies; where every adoptable and treatable animal gets a chance at life. We must prioritize spay and neuter services, reducing the number of unwanted pets in the first place.
