End the Practice of Euthanizing Dogs in Kill Shelters

The Issue

As a family who has rescued dogs all our lives, we deeply resonate with the struggle of our four-legged friends who end up in kill shelters. Our mutual love for dogs has not only led us to open our homes to them but also advocate for their lives. The value of life, be it human or non-human, should be respected and cherished. I stand before you as a spiritual person and a yogi, believing that life is a precious gift given by God, and it's not for us to take away.

Kill shelters around the U.S euthanize 1.5 million shelter animals each year, according to a report from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(ASPCA). Many of these are healthy and adoptable pets whose only crime was to be born into a world where too few people care to adopt.

We are hereby petitioning for a cease to the euthanizing of dogs in kill shelters. Our societies must strive to become No Kill societies; where every adoptable and treatable animal gets a chance at life. We must prioritize spay and neuter services, reducing the number of unwanted pets in the first place.

You have the power to be a part of the solution. We ask for your support in ending this practice that is not only inhumane but also unnecessary with the right measures in place. Please join us in this campaign by signing this petition. Stand up for those who can't. Let's give these dogs a chance to live the life they deserve. Sign today; your voice truly makes a difference.
