We stand against the ongoing practices at the San Fernando Dog Pound, where countless healthy dogs are taken off the streets and euthanized without waiting for the mandated hold period. Shockingly, most of these animals never get a chance to find loving homes. The living conditions in the pound are unthinkable: poor sanitation, inadequate shelter, and essentially an environment deflecting the idea of animal welfare. This stands in the direct contrast to the progressive values of our society that needs to extend its compassion to all creatures. We urge the local authorities to take immediate action - to permanently close this dog pound and redistribute its resources towards rehabilitative measures. This would include medical care, adoption initiatives, and efforts to spay and neuter to control population. The necessity for humane treatment of animals reflects the progress of our society and it's high time these changes were implemented.
