We Are the Republic of Kurdistan – The Time to Recognize Us Has Come!

For more than a century, our country—our homeland, Kurdistan—has been divided by states and political decisions, and handed over to the enemies of the Kurdish people.

Enemies who, year after year, spill the blood of thousands of Kurds and deny them even the most basic right: to exist in dignity.

We demand that the international community take responsibility for the betrayal and the crimes committed against the Kurdish people a people whose roots stretch back thousands of years into this land, its soil, its mountains, and its history.

An apology is not enough.

What is required is justice.

We call on the world to acknowledge this historic crime and to work together to repair it، by returning the Kurdish homeland to its rightful people. Silence has protected injustice for too long. Now is the time to break it.

Stand with the Kurds.

Be our voice.

زیاتر لە سەد ساڵە، وڵاتی ئێمە — کوردستان — چەند پارچە کراوە و بە دەستی وڵاتە داگیرکەرەکان خوێنی کوردان ڕژاوە. زیاتر لە سەد ساڵە، کوردان دەکوژن، ئەشکەنجەیان دەدەن و لە نیشتیمانی خۆیان دوردەخرێنەوە

ئەم دەوڵەتانە خاک و وڵاتی ئێمەیان دابەش کردووە، سەرکوتیان کردووین و لە ژێر دەسەڵاتی وڵاتانی دیکەیان داناوین. بەڵام داوایان لێمان کرد ئەو ناسنامە و پێناسە کە خۆیان بۆمانیان دروست کردووە ، قبوڵ بکەین. ئەمە هەرگیز نەبووە و نابێت، چونکە کورد خاوەنی ئەم خاکەیە

کوردستان خاوەنی مێژوو ،ئیمپراتۆریەت ، سەرکردەی گەورەیە. هەر منداڵێکی کورد لە خاکی کوردستاندا وەک میراتگرێک ، شانازی بەو شتانە دەکات. ئێمە زمان، کولتوور و مێژووی خۆمان هەیە و ئەو میراتەمان دە هەر خانەیەکی جەستەماندا پاراستوومانە

ناتوانن ڕاستیەک بسڕنەوە: کوردستان هەیە و کورد خاوەندارێتی. ئێمە داوای ئەوە دەکەین جیهان کوردستان وەک وڵاتێکی سەربەخۆ بناسێت

ئەم کێشە تەنها کێشەی کورد نییە؛ ئەمە کێشەی دادپەروەری و مرۆڤایەتییە. خوێنی شەهیدانی ئێمە دەگەڵ خاکەکەمان تێکەڵ بووە. هۆنەرمەندان، گۆرانیبێژەکان، مێژوونووسان و سەرکردەکانمان بۆ ئەم خاکە خەباتیان کردووە. هیچ یێک لەو سەرکردەکانمان ، ژیانی ئاساییان نەبووە. هەموویان بۆ ئازادی، ناسنامە و گەورەیی کورد شەڕیان کردووە.

لە کۆمەڵگای نێودەوڵەتی داوا دەکەین پشتگیری ئێمە بکات. ئەم پەتیسیۆنە واژۆ بکەن. یارمەتی بدەن خاکی کوردستانی دابەشکراو بگەڕێنینەوە و دەنگی کورد بە جیهان بگات

Silence Is No Longer an Option

After what has once again been inflicted upon the Kurdish people;

after renewed attacks by ISIS and its allies on Kurdistan;

after the alliance of states that devoured our land, our people, and our rights;

silence has become betrayal.

We saw our people massacred and tortured.

We saw Kurdish blood turned into a bargaining tool.

We saw how Arabs, Turks, and Persians—whom we once believed to be our brothers and fellow countrymen—

celebrated the suffering and slaughter of a people whose only “crime” was being Kurdish.

And we saw agreements signed, paid for with Kurdish blood and Kurdish land.

Your governments had no right

to divide our land,

to separate Kurds from Kurds,

to expel us from our ancestral homeland,

and to replace us with others who have no bond to this soil.

What happened to us was not a mistake.

It was a deliberate injustice.

And no injustice becomes legitimate with time.

We are not asking for a new country somewhere else in the world.

Many of today’s states were established only within the last century.

We are asking only for our land and our roots

the land that has belonged to us for centuries.

Imagine this for a moment:

your home taken from you, your identity erased, being hunted for your name and language, and subjected to genocide.

This is not a nightmare, this has been our reality for more than a hundred years.

This is not only a Kurdish issue.

This is a human issue.

We ask you, as a human being:

Be the voice of the Kurds.

The time has come for the world to acknowledge and make amends for the crime committed against the Kurdish people and their land more than a century ago.

For over one hundred years, our country has been taken from us, divided, and handed over to our enemies. We have been forced to live under the rule of those who spilled our blood. For more than a century, Kurds have been subjected to genocide—year after year, under new pretexts. 

Demand that your governments stop building their wealth and security on Kurdish blood and Kurdish land. There are more honorable paths— paths that do not so profoundly violate human dignity. Sign this petition for rights, for justice, and for the return of Kurdish land to its rightful owners.

Wir sind die Republik Kurdistan – Die Zeit ist gekommen, uns anzuerkennen!

Schweigen ist keine Option mehr

Nach allem, was dem kurdischen Volk erneut angetan wurde;

nach den wiederholten Angriffen des IS und seiner Verbündeten auf Kurdistan;

nach dem Zusammenschluss von Staaten, die unser Land, unser Volk und unsere Rechte verschlungen haben;
ist Schweigen Verrat.

Wir haben gesehen, wie unsere Mitmenschen massakriert und gefoltert wurden. Wir haben gesehen, wie kurdisches Blut zur Verhandlungsmasse wurde. Wir haben gesehen, wie Araber, Türken und Perser، die wir einst für Brüder und Mitbürger hielten، den Leidensweg und das Abschlachten uns eines Volkes feierten, dessen einziges „Verbrechen“ es war, kurdisch zu sein. Und wir haben gesehen, wie Verträge unterzeichnet wurden, deren Preis kurdisches Blut und kurdisches Land war.

Ihre Regierungen hatten kein Recht,

unser Land zu teilen,

Kurden voneinander zu trennen,

uns aus unserer angestammten Heimat zu vertreiben

und andere an die Stelle der rechtmäßigen Besitzer dieses Bodens zu setzen.

Was uns widerfahren ist, war kein Fehler.

Es war bewusstes Unrecht.

Und kein Unrecht wird mit der Zeit legitim.

Wir fordern keinen neuen Staat irgendwo auf der Welt.

Viele der heutigen Staaten sind selbst erst im letzten Jahrhundert entstanden.

Wir fordern lediglich unser Land und unsere Wurzeln zurück—

das Land, das seit Jahrhunderten uns gehört.

Stellen Sie sich einen Moment lang vor:

Ihr Zuhause wird Ihnen genommen,

Ihre Identität ausgelöscht,

Sie werden wegen Ihres Namens und Ihrer Sprache verfolgt

und Opfer von Völkermord.

Das ist kein Albtraum

das ist seit über hundert Jahren unsere Realität. Dies ist nicht nur eine kurdische Frage. Es ist eine Frage der Menschlichkeit.

Wir bitten Sie، als Mensch:

Seien Sie die Stimme der Kurden.

Die Zeit ist gekommen, dass die Welt das Verbrechen anerkennt und wiedergutmacht,

das vor mehr als einem Jahrhundert gegen das kurdische Volk und sein Land begangen wurde.

Seit über hundert Jahren wurde uns unser Land genommen, geteilt und unseren Feinden überlassen.

Wir wurden gezwungen, unter der Herrschaft jener zu leben, die unser Blut vergossen haben.

Seit mehr als einem Jahrhundert werden Kurden Jahr für Jahr—unter wechselnden Vorwänden—Opfer von Völkermord.

Fordern Sie Ihre Regierungen auf,

ihren Wohlstand und ihre Sicherheit nicht länger auf kurdischem Blut und kurdischem Land aufzubauen.

Es gibt würdevollere Wege

Wege, die die menschliche Würde nicht so tief verletzen.
