End the exploitation and abuse of working animals
The Issue
Animals have always held a special place in my heart. Their innocence, beauty, and unconditional love are unmatched. Seeing them suffer is heartbreaking, and this petition is my attempt to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
During my recent visit to Shimla's Mall Road, I witnessed something I cannot forget. A horse with a severe injury near its hind legs was still being forced to carry tourists. It was visibly in pain, yet it continued to work as people rode it without a second thought.
Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Horses used for tourist rides and wedding processions, donkeys carrying excessive loads, elephants exploited for entertainment, and countless other working animals are forced to endure pain, exhaustion, hunger, and neglect for human convenience and profit. According to the World Animal Protection, around 70% of elephants used in the tourism industry endure seriously poor welfare conditions.
We cannot continue to normalize this cruelty.
I urge the concerned authorities to:
Ban the use of injured, sick, or malnourished animals for tourism, weddings, entertainment, and other commercial purposes.
Enforce strict animal welfare laws through regular inspections and meaningful penalties for abuse.
Ensure proper food, water, rest, shelter, and veterinary care for all working animals.
Promote humane, animal-free alternatives for tourism and celebrations.
Increase public awareness about the ethical treatment of animals.
This is a call to action for governments, animal welfare organizations, and every compassionate individual. By signing this petition, you are standing up for millions of animals who cannot speak for themselves but deserve to live with dignity, compassion, and freedom from suffering.
Together, we can end the exploitation of working animals and create a future where no animal is forced to suffer for entertainment, tradition, or profit.
