End the EA/NFL Exclusive License: Return Competition and Innovation to NFL Gaming

End the EA/NFL Exclusive License: Return Competition and Innovation to NFL Gaming
The Issue
The NFL is the gold standard of professional sports, but for over 20 years, it's video game representation has fallen into a state of stagnant mediocrity.
Since Electronic Arts (EA) secured an exclusive "simulation" license, the Madden NFL franchise has been plagued by a lack of innovation, recurring "legacy bugs" that persist for years, and a complete disregard for the fans who fuel the game, and league’s success. Without a competitor like 2K Sports or other major developers to push the envelope, the "Madden" brand has become synonymous with "roster updates" rather than groundbreaking simulation.
We, the fans, are calling on the NFLPA to refuse a new exclusivity agreement for the 2027 renewal.
By signing this petition, you are sending a clear message to the NFLPA leadership:
The Monopoly is Failing: Lack of competition has led to a sub-par product that does not reflect the excellence of the NFL players it portrays.
Innovation is Required: We want a market where multiple developers can compete to build the best football experience, forcing EA (and others) to actually earn our business.
Respect the Players’ Likeness: Professional athletes deserve to be featured in a product that is technically sound and pushes the boundaries of realism—not a game riddled with the same glitches year after year.
The current contract expires in February 2027. Now is the time to act. Join us in demanding that the NFLPA opens the field to all developers. No more monopolies. No more complacency.
