End the Discriminatory Ban on Pitbulls in Humboldt, KS

End the Discriminatory Ban on Pitbulls in Humboldt, KS
The Issue
I am a resident of Humboldt, KS and a proud owner of an American Bully puppy. Recently, when I went to register my 7-month-old pup, I was told that she is inherently dangerous due to her breed. This is not only unfair but also discriminatory. It's teaching my biracial children that it's okay to judge and hate based on stereotypes.
Pitbulls are often misunderstood and misrepresented. According to the American Temperament Test Society (ATTS), pit bulls had a passing rate of 86.7% -- higher than many breeds considered 'family friendly' like Beagles (80%) or Border Collies (79%). The ban in our city is not based on fact but fear.
This ban doesn't just affect dog owners; it impacts our entire community by perpetuating harmful stereotypes about these dogs who are often loving, loyal companions when raised in caring environments.
It's time for us to stop this discrimination against Pitbulls in Humboldt, KS. We need your support to show our local authorities that we stand against breed-specific legislation and believe in fair treatment for all dogs regardless of their breed.
Please sign this petition today if you believe every dog deserves a chance at life without prejudice or discrimination!
