End the Cruel Practice of Cub Petting

End the Cruel Practice of Cub Petting
The Issue
Witnessing the heart-wrenching sight of defenseless tiger cubs being exploited for entertainment has left a lasting impact on me.
The serene beauty and innocence of these creatures should be cherished, not commercialized.
Cub petting may seem like a harmless activity, but beneath the surface lies a dark reality of cruelty and exploitation.
Cub petting facilities lure visitors with the promise of the unique experience of holding a baby tiger.
However, these cubs are often torn away from their mothers just days or weeks after birth.
Deprived of their natural upbringing, they are subjected to constant handling and forced to interact with humans in unnatural environments.
According to Big Cat Rescue, cubs are only suitable for petting until they are about 12 weeks old.
After that, they’re discarded or trafficked into the illegal wildlife trade. These majestic animals are born into a life of captivity, stress, and abuse.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has cited numerous facilities for inadequate care, further highlighting the dreadful conditions these cubs endure.
It's time for us to take a stand and protect these precious creatures from a life of suffering. Some locations, including California, have already banned cub petting, illustrating that change is possible.
We need to continue this progress by pushing for federal legislation to ban cub petting across the United States and ensuring violators face stringent penalties.
Join me in advocating for the end of this inhumane practice.
Tigers, lions, and other big cats deserve to live in environments that respect their natural behavior, not in cages for human amusement.
By signing this petition, you're helping to champion the rights and dignities of cubs everywhere and sending a powerful message that animal abuse has no place in our society.
Please sign and share this petition to bring an end to cub petting.
