The Issue

As someone deeply touched by the plight of these noble creatures, I've witnessed the heartbreaking reality of hundreds of thousands of horses in America being sent to their premature deaths each year. Their lives being taken, their hooves harvested for the sole purpose of producing glue. It's a process that's not only unsustainable but also deeply unsettling. Aside from the emotional weight, the environmental consequences cannot be ignored.

According to the Animal Welfare Institute, horses are often transported for long hours in unsuitable conditions to meet this gruesome end. These animals, once symbols of freedom and might, are reduced to mere production ingredients in a profitable industry lacking empathy and sustainability.

The United States alone exported approximately 100,000 horses for slaughter in 2019, as reported by the United States Department of Agriculture. This number has only grown since then. While it's true some industries rely on animal-based components, the act of slaughtering healthy, well-off horses is a practice we should not condone in a society voicing for animal rights, dignity, and a healthier planet.

We need to gear our efforts into finding alternative, cruelty-free adhesive solutions. This petition aims to enforce a ban on slaughtering healthy horses for glue production, thereby respecting their right to a dignified life and reflecting our commitment to responsible, sustainable practices.

Please sign this petition and stand with us in this fight against inhumane treatment of horses. Together, we can make a difference.
