End the Commercialization of Education and Prioritize Student Well-being

End the Commercialization of Education and Prioritize Student Well-being
The Issue
I am writing this petition drawn from heart wrenching personal experiences I have witnessed. One incident involved a diligent student, who ranked second in his college, yet attempted suicide feeling he failed to satisfy his parents' expectations. Another was the son of a daily wage worker studying in a luxurious private institution. Despite his father's hard-earned savings, the student failed to get a seat in IIT and tragically ended his own life as he was unable to cope with the internal pressure.
These are but two instances in a growing trend where education, a fundamental necessity, has been transformed into a business, often propagated by loopholes in law and tacit political support. Unfortunately, these attitudes burden students, leading to many unnecessary and tragic losses.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau, in the span of a year, an alarming 10,159 students took their own lives due to pressures associated with the educational system (source: NCRB's report on Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India ). It's evident that our flawed system, driven by profit, is not only stifling young talents but also pushing them into darkness.
The time has come to reevaluate our education system and to prioritize welfare over profit. We call for strict action against those who commodify education and exploit innocent children and parents. We urge for orders to manage government schools and colleges effectively, making them superior alternatives to private institutions.
Let's ensure no more lives are wasted. By moving away from a profit-based education model, we affirm that every student's life, regardless of their academic performance, is precious and worthy of hope. We seek your support in fostering an environment that nourishes the dreams of our students, rather than extinguishing them.
This is our plea, and your signatures can make a critical difference. Sign this petition, stand by our children, and give them the chance they deserve. Be a part of the change. Demand reformation in our education system.
