End School Mask Mandate - Knox County TN
The Issue
I am LIVID. My kids have been forced into masking since moving to Knoxville and I am over it as many of us are. After the display of 75,000 free faces at the super bowl yesterday you should be infuriated to know kids are still mandated to mask in school!
I am calling on all of you to join me in the fight to end mask mandates put on our babies! Weather your in Knox or not. It takes a village!
I understand the mask mandate in Knox County schools is only in place due to a lawsuit against Knox County and Tennessee that was filed on behalf of eight students who have disabilities and who are deemed as being more vulnerable to serious illness or death if they contract COVID-19.
Why are we penalizing an entire district of students (61,545 currently enrolled), teachers, and staff (9,525 currently employed) for EIGHT students? Accommodations could and should be made to protect them without making an entire district suffer.
It has been admitted by the CDC and Dr. Fauci as well as numerous senior medical experts that these masks are no more than “face decorations”. They do not aid in protecting anyone from contracting or spreading this virus. It is also argued that it could indeed increase the chances of catching not only the virus at hand but other common and seasonal illnesses due to improper use. This is due to the fact children are not trained, nor do they have the discipline to properly use masks. A mask should only be applied with freshly washed hands and not touched. Once the mask has been touched it should be replaced every single time, and again with freshly washed hands.
These children are wearing the same mask all day, for 8 hours, touching them, licking them, blowing noses in them, taking them off and placing them down wherever and not uncommonly, the floor or ground outside - then reapplying the dirty material to their face to then breathe through. It is a known fact noses get runny after spending time in the cold and transitioning into a warmer environment, these children are using these masks as wearable handkerchiefs. My son is in kindergarten, every single day he comes home from school his mask is covered in dirt, snot, and saliva. Many parents and pediatricians have found their children and patients to have been diagnosed with staph infections (Staphylococcus), acne breakouts (Molluscum), strep throat (Pharyngitis) due to prolonged masking. Lightheadedness, dizziness, and headaches are also commonly reported – among my own children.
Is is abundantly clear this mandate is to protect themselves financially and it has nothing to do protecting anyone medically.
Myself and many others are done watching our children come home from school every day wearing trash on their faces and breathing in all of the dirt, grime, and bacteria they have collected on that trash throughout their day.
We have to stop them from using our children as pawns in their political games.
Please help us end the mandates!
