End Restrictions on Palestinian travel to Australia

The issue

Since the 26th October 2022, the Big Ride for Palestine (Australia) has been writing and talking to the government authorities about the situation on the West Bank and Gaza in Palestine.

We are trying to assist a family from a refugee camp on the West Bank whose apartment has been raided and trashed by Israeli occupation forces. Their youngest son has been threatened and his phone smashed.  The reason why the Israeli soldiers smashed B's phone was because he used it to warn other children about the soldiers coming to get them.

On the 18th August 2024 I called my sister Weam in Camp No. 1 Camp in Nablus (also known as Ein Beit el-Ma). She told me Israeli settlers had shot her son, Basim, five bullets in his legs and in his upper chest. He is now in Nablus prison hospital under the control of the Palestinian Authority. His family is afraid Basim will be killed by the Israelis when he is released from hospital. - Khalil Hamdan

This is a war situation. While governments and media discuss other hot spots in the world, namely Ukraine and the South China Sea, a full blown conflict has developed under their noses in Palestine.

Palestine is an emergency that needs to be taken seriously.

We are calling on the Prime Minister to relax tight restrictions on Palestinian travel to Australia, just as he did for Ukrainians. Palestinians have a right to work, study and reunite with family and friends abroad.
