The Issue

Either we stand by and remain complicit by not forcing the issue of the executions of American citizens or we let our voice be heard and demand accountability.

We are the people and the power of the people can create change for the betterment of all mankind.  Will you join the fight to protect our children, our families and our livelihood in our own Country.

It's time to end Qualified immunity and hold injustice accountable for all public servants. We demand Justice ⚖️

Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine that shields police officers and other government officials from civil liability unless they violate clearly established law. While it was created to allow officers to perform their duties without fear of constant litigation, it has, in practice, led to a lack of accountability in situations where officers abuse their power.

According to the Mapping Police Violence project, in the United States, police killed at least 1,100 people each year from 2013 to 2022. Many of these cases involve scenarios where qualified immunity prevents the victims' families from seeking justice. This legal protection often allows officers to escape consequences, even in instances of egregious misconduct.

Consider the tragic case of George Floyd, whose death sparked national outrage and led to widespread protests demanding justice and reform. Yet, under qualified immunity, similar incidents have continued without considerable change. Each year, scores of families are left without recourse, leaving communities feeling vulnerable and unprotected.

Ending qualified immunity is not about making it difficult for the police to do their jobs; rather, it is about ensuring that when misconduct occurs, there is a pathway to hold officers accountable. By doing so, we can restore trust between communities and law enforcement. Independent oversight and transparency are crucial in creating a justice system that truly serves and protects all citizens equally.

In states like New York and Colorado, measures to reform or end qualified immunity are underway, signaling a growing recognition that the status quo is untenable. Nationally, [Your State Senators/Congressmen] need to prioritize legislation that addresses this critical issue in the next session.

Join me in urging our lawmakers to end qualified immunity and implement meaningful police accountability measures. Together, we can pave the way for a fairer and more just society, where every citizen feels protected and every officer is held to the highest standard.
