The Issue

Every year, there are thousands of dogs and cats bred in puppy mills. These are large breeding facilities that treat animals as products rather than the living beings they are. Dogs in these mills are often confined to small cages, lack proper veterinary care, and overall basic love. Many develop serious illnesses along with behavioral problems. They tend to have anxiety due to neglect and lack of human interaction. Puppies from these facilities are sold to pet stores or online. This is a continuous cycle of cruelty, all happening at the expense of the animals’ well being.

Meanwhile, animal shelters across the country are overwhelmed. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, roughly 3.2 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year. This is because there aren’t enough people willing to adopt them. These animals are both healthy and loving. They just need someone to give them a chance.

I’ve personally seen how adoption can transform a life. I have met dogs rescued from puppy mills who were scared and anxious. After weeks of love, these same dogs became full of life. It’s incredible to see what a difference a loving home makes.

We are asking pet stores, breeders, and local governments to:

  • Stop supporting or selling animals from puppy mills.
  • Promote adoption through shelters and rescue organizations.
  • Educate the public about the harsh reality of puppy mills.
  • Talk about the benefits of adopting pets responsibly.

By signing this petition, you are helping us fight against puppy mills and support shelter animals in need. We can create a world where every dog and cat has a safe and loving home. Let’s help give every dog and cat the life they deserve.
