For over 25 years, I have watched as township officials in Monroe County, Michigan, have continuously raised my property taxes without regard for what the citizens approve. They use funds for their own interests without real accountability, while we, the taxpayers, have no say in how our hard-earned money is being spent.

It's incredibly frustrating and unjust. Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that we are required to pay property taxes.
