The Issue

Thanks for reading. Let’s put an end to Parental Alienation for good by requiring family therapy early in custody cases.

PARENTAL ALIENATION IS A FORM OF CHILD ABUSE.

MY STORY:

I was trapped by someone for whom I was planning on leaving. I was leaving a highly toxic relationship loaded with abuse. I have always been a fantastic father to my son and don’t deserve the endless barrage of lies, fabrications and exaggerations presented to the courts, doctors and so many other people.

Leaving an abuser should never make someone a bad person. I don’t want my son growing up in a toxic environment. My petition was officially filed in July 2021 and as of July of 2022, I’m still on 4 hours of monitored visits thanks to a false allegation by his mother. That allegation was dropped by the DA.

Hopefully, my august court date will start swinging the way of a great parent with a great family and a strong support system. All of which have been denied my son.

MY GOAL:

My experience with the courts has been a long drawn out process for which I am inspired to make change. I think anyone who has experienced abuse knows how terrible it is. Abuse can be emotional, verbal, physical and sexual. The idea is to prevent all forms of abuse or at least intercept it as early as possible.

I would like to see Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists involved on the date of the petition for custody. You can line up a therapy appointment if you’re covered by insurance or appointed one in your city by the state if you're in financial distress. This would ensure the best parental bond for each child. Abuse and neglect could be discovered and handled early. Cases like mine where personal resentments prevented me from parenting could be uncovered quickly and ensure that good parents get to see their kids. We could also discover bad parents before it's too late.

Let's give mental health professionals some power and not just optional suggestions. We can free up court time for families truly experiencing pain and suffering. We can also help families settle out of court with initial orders. Mediation in California is required however it could be more effective with earlier involvement of LMFTs.

I am in the state of California and I’d love to present this to the necessary groups to make change happen. I'm optimistic for 100,000 signatures before the end of 2022. Thanks to those who promote this. Within the first hour, two donors helped spread the word and I very much appreciate all the help.

LET’S DO THIS FOR OUR CHILDREN!
