End Parachinar Siege Now!

The Issue

Parachinar is bleeding. Since 100 plus days, the only lifeline road to Parachinar, Tull-Parachinar road has been blocked, by terrorists. Pakistanis administration of  Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef, President Asif Ali Zardari and Interiror minister Mohsin Naqvi and KPK government of Ali Amin Gandapur have failed miserably. The terrorists roam freely in the area despit the presence of armed forces in the area. They have failed to provide security.

HISTORY: This comes in the backdrop of years of target killing of religious minorities and rise of militancy of terrorists.

A Pattern of Neglect and Persecution
For decades, Pakistan’s religious minorities have suffered systemic violence and discrimination. Shia Muslims, in particular, have endured:

Mass killings: Tens of thousands have been killed, including targeted assassinations of professionals like doctors, engineers, and lawyers.
State complicity: Credible reports suggest state agencies have colluded with or facilitated attacks on Shia communities.
Persecution in Kurram: Upper Kurram has become a flashpoint of barbaric violence, with over 1,000 innocent lives lost in recent years and thousands more injured.
The recent massacre near Baggan town KPK,  on November 21, 2024, is a chilling example of this violence: Over 40 innocent men, women, and children were killed, many beheaded, and their properties looted.A six-month-old infant was shot dead in cold blood. Clashes that followed claimed an additional 39 lives.

Our Demands
The Federal Government of Pakistan, the Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the security establishment are responsible for this catastrophic failure. Their negligence, incompetence, and potential complicity demand immediate accountability.

We strongly demand:

An immediate end to the siege of Parachinar by reopening the Tull-Parachinar highway.

A high-level judicial inquiry into the November 21, 2024, attack and subsequent incidents to identify and prosecute:

The militants responsible for these heinous crimes.

Security officials whose negligence or complicity enabled these atrocities.

Immediate relief efforts to provide medical care, food, and essential supplies to the besieged population.

Concrete actions to dismantle militant networks and hold accountable any state agencies involved in aiding or abetting violence against minorities.

People of conscience
