Breonna Taylor's murder confirmed what we already know: no-knock warrants are too dangerous and ineffective. There are numerous other methods that police departments can use to safely search property or make an arrest, but this is not one of them. The LAPD must take the time to reform its practices, especially no-knock warrants so that we can safely carry out law enforcement in our communities. We cannot continue to settle for these types of reckless strategies that endanger the lives of people in our community and our officers.
