Since our last update, we have not received further official information about Cole’s condition, other than that he may require a heart transplant.

In support of this petition, Intact America’s Vice Chairperson, Dan Bollinger, has released a new policy paper titled: Why NICU Circumcisions Should Cease. The paper outlines the medical, ethical, legal, and economic reasons for ending circumcisions in neonatal intensive care units. It argues that continuing these non-therapeutic surgeries on critically ill or premature infants provides no justifiable benefit and violates fundamental ethical standards in pediatric care. 

This paper calls on hospitals, policymakers, and professional organizations to eliminate NICU circumcisions and adopt protective protocols for vulnerable infants.
