I am a proud owner of five raccoons and have befriended many in the wild. These unique, intelligent, loving, and sensitive animals are often misunderstood. It is heartbreaking to witness them being hunted for sport or financial gain. The terror they endure during these hunts is unimaginable; mothers are killed leaving their young defenseless, scared alone and starving. Innocent lives suffer and die as a result.

Raccoons are more than just creatures of the night; they play an important role in our ecosystem by controlling pests and dispersing seeds. Despite this, their population has been declining due to hunting activities across the nation.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, raccoons are among the most frequently hunted species in America (Humane Society). This practice not only threatens their survival but also disrupts our ecosystem balance.

It's time we put an end to these cruel hunts that cause unnecessary suffering for these innocent beings who share our world. Let's stand together against such practices that threaten our wildlife's well-being.
