Way to go Cayden Taipalus, you saw a wrong and did your part to make it right! The new school year started last month and I have been neck deep in paperwork ever since, thus I have had little time for social media. A couple of recent events have brought this school meal issue back into the limelight, one in Michigan and another in Pennsylvania, so I thought it was a good time to post an update. I've said many times that this is not solely a Texas issue and the issue will not going to go away on its own. Here in Texas I need enough petition supporters to spur the Texas Legislature to take this issue by the horns and address it in a manner that DOES NOT harm children. How many supporters will that take? I have no idea but given that no politician appears to be chomping at the bit to pick up this fight I'm guessing that it will take a LOT more signatures. Your shares, Tweets, signatures and support WILL help so please keep them coming! Why some schools, who have a stated mission to protect the children in their care, have chosen to condone this practice of meal denial is beyond me. This cafeteria worker was so disgusted by the practice that she chose to quit her job rather than participate in "lunch shaming" - http://abcnews.go.com/US/cafeteria-worker-quits-forced-hot-lunch-student-unpaid/story?id=42236158&cid=abcn_fb The Texas Legislature meets again in January 2017, your support will help ensure this issue makes it onto their agenda. Thanks for your support thus far - Kelvin
