Our wait for the 85th Texas Legislative session is essentially down to double-digits, when they take to the floor in January each member will be pushing the agenda items that are most important to them, I'm fine with that, that is what they SHOULD be doing. I understand that there are several important issues that need to be addressed and resolved here in Texas, I simply feel that one of the issues that needs to be addressed is the denial of school meals for whatever reason. Yes, the 2016 presidential election is only 37 days away, so by all means . . . get registered, do your research, make your decision, and vote as you wish. In the meantime, I still need your support as well. As the attached image from a recent email indicates, some members of the Texas Legislature recognize that the school meal situation "is a major issue" but they are unwilling to commit to an amendment or a new bill to address the issue, well, not yet anyway. By the way, this senator is a member of the Texas Senate Education Committee. Yes my name is spelled wrong in the email, it’s not the first time, I can live with that, and I have bigger fish to fry. I think we can all agree that children, especially younger children, are rarely at fault when their school meal accounts run low. This is a problem that CAN be solved, it may not be easy but it’s not rocket science either. This senator wants to know if other members of the Texas Legislature “have noticed this issue”, so let’s get this issue noticed!
