Hello fellow supporters, Just to be sure I am NOT a Texas lawmaker, but a cooperating lawmaker did ask me to write the amendments that I would like to see HB 3562. I took a stab at that task about two months ago and this is what I came up with. For ease of reading, any original text to be removed or changed has been struck-through and is shown in red while any text that I have added has been highlighted in yellow. I have been told that HB 3562 was a tough sell when it passed in 2015, with the addition of paragraph (5) about half of the original law is being amended so this amendment is likely to be yet another tough sell. The first session of 85th Texas Legislature is still SEVEN MONTHS AWAY and it will take a lot of support from my fellow Texans to keep this issue from being overshadowed by the inauguration of our 45th President.
