End Lottery Corruption in Texas and Demand Real Oversight Now

The Issue

In 2023, the Texas Lottery was rigged and state officials helped make it happen.

A group of international gamblers teamed up with a Texas-based tech company to buy nearly every possible ticket combination ahead of a single draw. They printed 26 million tickets and guaranteed themselves the $95 million jackpot. And they were able to pull it off because the Texas Lottery Commission allowed it.

Instead of stopping this scheme, officials expedited the delivery of lottery terminals and looked the other way. The winning ticket was sold out of a storefront packed with terminals, not a real retail store. The winner remained anonymous, hidden behind a Delaware shell company. The people who lost out were everyday Texans who bought tickets believing they had a fair chance.

This is not just a lottery loophole. This was a state-sanctioned fraud that handed millions to wealthy gamblers and deceived the public. Even worse, those involved tried to run the same playbook again later that year and were only stopped after public outrage and media exposure.

We are calling on Governor Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and the Texas Legislature to launch a full investigation, revoke any contracts with companies involved in this scheme, and pass permanent reforms to ban bulk ticket purchases and prevent political insiders from manipulating future draws.

Texans deserve a lottery that is fair, transparent, and trustworthy. Right now, we have the opposite. Sign this petition to demand real accountability and lasting reform.
