Yesterday 25/04/24 marked six months since the Australian government led by Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese received recommendations on a live sheep export phase out.  Before the last Federal election, the Labor party gave a commitment to end live sheep exports. Yet the Australian public (and the sheep) are still waiting. A Federal election will be held sometime in the next 12 months and it's imperative that legislation to begin the phase out is introduced well before then. 
This six-month anniversary marks an opportunity to remind the PM that Australians (and the sheep) are waiting for an announcement ... And that we've waited long enough. Please use this form to speak up for the animals and send the PM a polite message https://www.pm.gov.au/contact ALL animals suffer when exported live for slaughter offshore, but an end to the live sheep trade is a start to ending this cruel and unnecessary trade for ALL animals, including cattle like the 39,101 animals exported live from Townsville for slaughter offshore in the first three months of 2024.
