Islamophobia is still a real and painful problem in Canada, the United States, and around the world. Many innocent Muslims, whether Canadian, American, or international, face fear, discrimination, and even violence simply because of their religion or background

Being a Muslim does not mean being dangerous. It means being a part of rich tradition of peace, kindness, family and faith. The media and misinformation have sadly caused fear among people who do not know the truth about Islam and Muslim communities.

Muslims are teachers, firefighters, doctors, students, neighbors, and friends. We are a part of society and deserve to be treated with the "same respect and dignity as everyone else."

WHAT WE WANT

We call on the governments of Canada and United States as wells as communities, and news platforms to: 

1. Launch national education campaigns to reduce fear and hate toward Muslims
2. Support anti Islamophobia policies in schools, workplaces, and public spaces,
3. Celebrate Muslim contributions through media, events, and public dialogue
4. Encourage allyship among Non-Muslims to stand up against hate when they see it
