End inhumane animal testing practices
The Issue
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14an9CMaL5i/
It has come to our attention that the Parker County Sheriff's Office has engaged in deeply concerning practices regarding animal testing for rabies. When a puppy displayed symptoms of rabies, it was killed and beheaded to confirm the disease. Following this, two additional puppies were also killed and beheaded despite the availability of cruelty-free alternatives to rabies testing.
The beheading of animals for testing purposes is an outdated and inhumane procedure when there are modern alternatives capable of providing the same diagnostic certainty without the need for such cruel methods. In many parts of the world, these alternative methods have been successfully implemented for years, offering a more humane approach to managing potential rabies outbreaks. Rather than employing brutal methods that cause unnecessary suffering, authorities should explore these viable options that ensure both human and animal safety.
We urge the Parker County Sheriff's Office to adopt modern and humane procedures in rabies testing, as well as to review the current policies and practices surrounding such cases. By doing so, they will not only align with global humane practices but also demonstrate a commitment to compassionate treatments of animals in complex situations.
Please join us in calling for an end to these inhumane practices. Sign this petition to advocate for the rights and welfare of animals, pushing for change towards humane and scientifically advanced methods.
