End Gym Restrictions for Contractors at Wright-Patt

We, the undersigned, respectfully call for an end to the restriction that prevents contractors from accessing gym facilities at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base without a government escort. 

Restricting contractor gym access sends a message of division rather than unity, especially when the initial reasons for suspending access is no longer applicable (COVID). 

In addition, studies show regular exercise improves productivity, reduces stress, and lowers healthcare costs—benefits that should extend to everyone who works hard to keep our operations running; particularly with the return to work Executive Orders. 

In contrast, Tyndall Air Force Base allows 24/7 access for contractors with their CAC card, which results in more engagement, camaraderie, and inclusion among the work force that supports the mission.

We urge Leadership and facility management to lift this restriction at Wright-Patt and grant contractors equal access to gym facilities.
