I am a witness to the heart-wrenching stories of people with relatives living in Palestine. During the MENA Climate Week 2023 in Riyadh, I was shown videos of the atrocities happening there. This deeply personal encounter has led me to initiate this petition.

Palestinians are currently enduring severe human rights violations under Israeli occupation and apartheid, as well as under the control of Palestinian authorities in West Bank and Gaza Strip. Documented abuses include genocide, unlawful killings, forced displacement, abusive detention, restrictions on movement, settlements and discrimination.

According to Amnesty International's report on Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories 2020/21, Israeli forces killed 31 Palestinians including 9 children in West Bank alone. Moreover, over 440 structures owned by Palestinians were demolished leading to displacement of more than 600 individuals (source: UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs).

These statistics only scratch the surface of what is a deep-rooted issue that needs immediate international attention. We must act now to protect basic human rights and freedoms for all Palestinians.
