The Issue

Recently, I was horrified to witness a video of a beagle, tied down with a gas mask strapped to its innocent face. This image of a frightened creature suffering for the sake of testing left a lasting scar on my heart and spurred me into action. Such cruelty is not only unnecessary but utterly inhumane, yet it is a reality for countless animals in labs across the globe.

In the United States alone, over 100 million animals suffer and die in cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic tests each year, according to reports from reputable organizations like PETA and the Humane Society. These animals live in bleak, confined spaces and experience fear and pain akin to torture before their tragic end. Shockingly, 95% of drugs that pass animal tests fail in humans, demonstrating the ineffectiveness and ethical dilemma of such practices.

The federal government continues to funnel taxpayer money into these archaic practices, supporting projects that inflict suffering on sentient beings. Similarly, many major corporations in the health and beauty industries persist with animal testing, disregarding the fact that alternative, non-animal testing methods are more effective and humane.

To make a difference, we call on the federal government to cease all funding for animal testing and redirect these resources toward modern, ethical research techniques such as microdosing, in vitro testing, and computer modeling that do not involve animals. Furthermore, we urge influential companies in the health and beauty sectors to embrace cruelty-free practices and implement innovative testing methods.

By signing this petition, you will help to amplify our demand for change, protect the lives of countless innocent animals, and encourage both our government and corporations to lead with compassion and responsibility. Together, we can create a world where beauty and health do not come at the cost of innocence and ensure that no more animals suffer needlessly in the name of science or consumerism. Please sign and share this petition widely to halt the suffering and inspire progress.
