The Issue

To: The Principal, School Management Board, and Disciplinary Committee
We, the students and parents of this institution, are launching this petition to demand an immediate end to the outdated and discriminatory mandatory short haircut policy forced upon male students. Our school claims to prioritize academic excellence, but the daily reality inside the campus tells a completely different story. The administration spends far too much time, energy, and focus policing students' hair lengths rather than focusing on actual education and teaching quality. Hair length has absolutely zero impact on a student's intelligence, academic capability, focus, or moral character. Treating long hair on boys as a disciplinary violation is an outdated practice that serves no educational purpose.

The Proof & Impact (The Incident)
The toxic nature of this policy crossed the line when a school teacher took scissors and forcefully cut the hair of a student—my close friend—right inside the school premises. This act was not "discipline"; it was a deeply humiliating, traumatic experience that stripped away a student's personal dignity and self-esteem in front of their peers. Publicly shaming students and forcefully cutting their hair violates basic child rights and creates a hostile, fearful learning environment. No student should ever have to come to school fearing that their physical boundaries will be violated by an educator over the length of their hair.

The Ask (Call to Action)

We urge the School Management and Principal to take immediate responsibility and officially update the school's dress code and grooming handbook. We demand the following concrete changes:

Gender-Equal Grooming Standards: Male students must be allowed to grow their hair to any length they choose, free from harassment or forced cuts.

Focus on Neatness, Not Length: The rule should only require that hair be kept clean, hygienic, and neatly tied or pinned back so it stays away from the face during classes, laboratory work, and sports.

Zero Disciplinary Action for Hair: The school must immediately ban all forms of punishment, public humiliation, academic penalties, suspension, or physical handling of students regarding hair length.

Accountability for Staff: Strict guidelines must be issued to the teaching staff stating that no teacher has the authority to touch, cut, or publicly shame a student over their personal appearance.

School should be a safe space to learn, grow, and build a career. We call on the administration to stop policing our looks and start focusing on our futures.
